This is where I cover data structures - Variables, records, ID arrays, Dictionaries and Hash tables.
Explaining hash functions demonstrates how data is stored and accessed efficiently.

Then I compare different search approaches for an array ( n ) - Linear Search = On, Binary search = Olog n and Hash functions = O1

You can also talk about the ease of data access via a separate files so that it can retained after the system is shut down.
Global and Local Variables are stored temporarily for different reasons.

I don't teach the dot point in isolation with the rest of the course though.

It seems pretty vague to me and I’m not sure where I’m supposed to focus on for any particular exam questions etc…
