This is where I cover data structures - Variables, records, ID arrays,
Dictionaries and Hash tables.
Explaining hash functions demonstrates how data is stored and accessed
efficiently.

Then I compare different search approaches for an array ( n ) - Linear
Search = On, Binary search = Olog n and Hash functions = O1

You can also talk about the ease of data access via a separate files so
that it can retained after the system is shut down.
Global and Local Variables are stored temporarily for different reasons.

I don't teach the dot point in isolation with the rest of the course though.
