In September, we had Software Freedom Day instead of our usual Beginner's 
Workshop, but now we're back to The Hub! Help us make it a success by coming 
along on Oct 17th.

Note:November will be different! Read below for more details. 
However, the October beginners workshop is on as normal on the 3rd Saturday.

We intend to cover things like:

  * installing various linux distributions;
  * tweaking and configuring your system;
  * automatic backups;
  * home networking, including wireless;
  * setting up specific platforms (e.g. mythtv, asterisk, ubuntustudio, etc);
  * using specific applications - openoffice, inkscape, gimp, openmoviestudio

... but if you want help with a different application or problem, come along 
and let us know. The event is what you make of it. Bring your laptop!

For those coming via Public Transport, the City Circle, number 48 (North 
Balwyn - Docklands) number 86 (Bundoora - Docklands) and number 70 (Wattle 
Park - Docklands) all stop on the corner of Bourke Street and Harbour 
Esplanade. Southern Cross Station is just across the overpass over 
Wurundjeri Road.


November

November will be different! In November, we will have the workshop at The Hub, 
but it'll be on the second Saturday, 14th of November.
