Hi Don,

There is no reason you can't but there are some limitations. You must include CSS and HTML skills which means manually creating templates in the case of Joomla and themes in the case of Wordpress and the level of CSS knowledge required is well beyond the scope of the outcome.

So unless you have kids who are already competent in CSS and CMS's then it's much more time intensive than creating a website mockup, remembering that the site does not have to be functional.

There are instructions for running a usb webserver in the docs section of the apps list from when I tried this approach.

I found the CMS approach really consumed much more class time than I was comfortable with but I'd be very interested to hear your experiences if you give it a go.

Kind Regards,

Hello All,

Thinking to 2014 301 SAC. Are kids allowed to use a CMS like Joomla and have it hosted locally using easyphp or similar?
It would certainly make for more interesting student websites.
