[Year 12 IPM] excel merge

Hi Andrew

 

What you need to do is use the concatenate function to string the two values
together.

 

For example:

 

=CONCATENATE((VLOOKUP(A2,A2:D14,1)), " has done well "). This will take the
value from the firs column, which is the first name of the student, and add
the comment "has done well".

hi 

 

i hope this is not too silly a question

 

im trying to get excel to do something fairly simple but i keep coming
unstuck

 

i want it to insert a name from a colum into a line of text

 

a simple cell reference will insert the name but as soon as u add other text
u get an error message

any ideas out there?
