IP&M Leibler Yavneh College – Study Plan 2003

Based on a published Study Plan Prepared by Michael Torsello for the text:

Heinemann DIGITAL: Information Processing and Management Units 3 & 4 by Sue Meredith, Mark Kelly, Jane Lewis and Carl di Stefano.

Students using this LYC study plan and associated guides and summaries must possess original copies of the above text CDROM because of copyright law.

·        This study plan is an approximate guide only, and will be adjusted as necessary – all Learning Modules must be covered, but some Activities will be omitted or replaced depending on student need and time constraints. It is important that adequate time be left at the end of the course for adequate exam preparation. Some time will be ‘lost’ with Camps and Tests and other College activities.

·        At Leibler Yavneh College the IP&M Course in 2003 is structured by Outcomes (there are 5).
Each Outcome culminates in a SAC that involves both practical and theory elements.
Students must gain the necessary knowledge and practical skills through activities and study leading up to the SAC.
Marks gained through the SAC’s contribute 50% of the eventual IP&M mark, and so are very important.
Each student’s overall SAC mark is moderated to the class’s performance statistics on the external end-of-year IP&M Examination.

·        A Summary of each Learning Module is available on the LYC IP&M Web Site.
Students should, during the year, develop their own summaries of essential IP&M Knowledge – this will be invaluable during the final preparation for the end-of-year IP&M Examination.

·        The final examination covers all theory work covered in the course, plus understandings developed during practical work.
It is a written examination.
Students will also receive training in exam answering technique.
