Hi,

Werribee Secondary College is going down that path. We have 1400+ students and have staggered the intro of iPads (yr 7&10 only this year). 

It does work but you need to invest in infrastructure e.g. Mac servers, WAPs and Internet. We use the dept Internet as well as our own ISP combined, which costs approx. $1500 per month (not sure of exact cost ... that is a guess-timate). 

We have 107 WAPs but will need more next year. The Cisco WAPs from the dept are cheap but not very good. To buy a Hive WAP will cost about $1000 per unit. We will need many more WAPs next year because 5 year levels will have iPads. 

If you can afford the upgrades, money can solve all problems.
