[Yr11 Information Technology] a very basic question

Hi,
 
I will be teaching yr 11 ict and yr 12 SD in 2008 (brand new to this) , and have found tonnes of work, ppts, and other fantastic stuff on the edulists and through VITTA conference as well. I think i maybe suffering from OVERLOAD anxitey at this stage. 
 
Can someone please guide me to the start? I want to plan a semester/ term outline and want some advice on the following:
 

1.	I need a rough timeline for each outcome so that I know I have x amount of weeks to teach and assess the outcome. We are using Fitzpatrick textbook so if someone has worked with this book, then their advice would be sooooo helpful!
2.	The previous teacher did yr 11 out of sequence this year, he did outcome 2,1,3  for both the units. This way he combined the dreamweaver/flash bits together, is this a good look or should I be doing it in sequence.
3.	There seems to be no notes on teaching the students the softwares, like Visual Studio and dreamweaver etc. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to go about gathering them, and again what amount of time should I be spending on this. 
4.	How far ahead do you need to be, I keep freaking out thinking I have to do the entire year's course in these holidays (actually two years) and I am getting very muddled. How much should I know say in semester 1?
5.	Our ICT person has gone to UK and this college and I are the sole people doing VCE for the first time so any advice would be handy. Although he has left lots of good resources we are missing actual ongoing guidance.
