[vet-it] Video conference and VET Resources

Hi Reiner,
I'm going to try to offer the full Cert 3 across 2 years. I intend
to get around the the incredible amount of hours required via the use of a
log book which students will need to fill in and have signed off on a
regular basis as well as organising after school work for them with our
technicians. I've attached a list of the modules we intend to cover (am
doing the applications stream) and when we intend to cover them. The way I
figure it, we can do the theory in class. The kids can practice it out of
hours and then I'll devise some sort of testing/prac to determine their
competency each week.
Cheers
Damien AB

Hi,
Reinier Bouman at Cobden Technical School here,
thankyou very much Peter, you're a champ.
I'm still finishing off the old course with year12's this year.
had a hiccup with new course book 2 arriving, but we'll get around that.
how does your school handle the loooong course stream requirements for
completion of cert III?
do you let students know that they need to start planning for vet it and
choose cert 2 in year 9?
how else do you jam the hour requirements in?
i really would like to offer VET IT here again, but am struggling greatly to
fit in the hours for a cert 2, let alone the cert 3 course.
and , yeah, the students are hangin' out for the completed 3 cert. they
don't think it's all the cool to have a partially completed course at the
end of secondary school, besides which, who's going to have them complete
the cert 3, i understand TAFE's don't even look at cert 3's anymore.
your feedback greatly appreciated, and , thanks again for your posting.
