Subject: [Technical] Wlan problem

Hi everyone,
I have a problem I'm sure someone has got around.
I have some small devices (a wireless print server and my mobile phone
etc) that I'd like to connect to the wireless network.
These devices do not support certificates and want a wep key.

Any ideas?

Hi Terry,

You're best not to use them at all.

They'll require attaching a WAP to your network that only has WEP
encryption.

You may as well leave a long Ethernet cord dangling out your window and
into the street.

Instead, source devices (or firmware upgrades to the devices you have)
that support the Edupass server authentication method - 802.1x. You may
also see it referred to as WPA-Enterprise, Radius or EAP-TLS.

Cheers,
Clarky
