I would like DE&T to set nothing more than data exchange standards for vendors to follow.
i.e. if all TT packages knew what data structure CASES used and how to interface with the SQL data directly, we could have many
vendors providing "front ends" to CASES data according to different school needs.  DE&T could set the data exchange standards and
approve packages that met their criteria.  WE would benefit by having integrated software instead of multiple standalone systems.
 
e.g. I have written a database for student behavioural observations because the DE&T module has such a poor and slow interface.  IF
I could have written a front end, then the data would have been IN cases as well as having a useable interface for staff.
