Big thankyous to Peter, Rob, Robert, Rob and Neville. I've now got plenty to go on with. Since asking for help I've unearthed a heap of PICAXE stuff at Wiltronics here in Ballarat developed by Rob Ward. Anyone else wanting info on PICAXE interfacing circuits need only check the latest Wiltronics catalogue.
Best regards

Thanks Rob,
I must admit I forgot about those transistors that were built into
that picaxe board which was designed by my brother. Roger you my like
to contact him as he has some nice picaxe board designs which work
well in secondary student projects.
You will get Rob at.... ward.robert.c at edumail.vic.gov.au
