Hi Anna, yes there is a bit of nudity as the exhibition is about how the artists learnt to draw at the Royal Academy, drawing 'from the antique', so drawing the human form from sculptures and eventually life drawing, and even some anatomical drawing, showing muscles and internal workings; this is quite fascinating for students. It is interesting to note that when women were finally admitted, they weren't allowed to draw the male form so the male models had to be draped. This is an interesting talking point. In addition to several paintings of the human form, there are splendid landscapes by Turner, Gainsborough and Australian artists such as Streeton and styles such as Realism, Neo-Classicism and Impressionism. There are even religious paintings, so pretty much all the themes in late 18th century, 19th century and early 20th century British art are covered. I encourage you to preview the exhibition to determine its suitability for your students.

Genius and Ambition: The Royal Academy of Arts, London 1768-1918 is now open at Bendigo Art Gallery.
