[Year 12 SofDev] Enrolment numbers

OK. Here goes.

I don't know how many kids choose VCE subjects as part of a deliberate
career path. I suspect many do.
e.g.

   - An aspiring actor chooses VCE Drama.
   - A budding programmer chooses VCE Software Development.
   - A conceited, power-hungry moron chooses VCE Politics.

Who would choose *Informatics* as a career path?
Where would an 'A+' in Informatics get you in a job interview?
What tertiary courses are calling for VCE Informatics high-fliers?

Maybe Informatics/Data Analytics and their later generations need to pick a
career path and concentrate on delivering skills for that path.
e.g.

   - IT systems management (to train the small-medium business company IT
   guy who does all things IT)
   - IT security (a huge field in itself, and growing more important every
   day)
   - Hardware design and theory (is there a VCE course for that? There
   should be!)
   - System Analysis - all systems need their analysts.
   - Network engineering, architecture and administration
   - Database Engineering. Purely for masochists with a career path.
   - User interface design
   - Web development - toss the other incidental stuff and just focus on *the
   one topic* in depth for a year. CSS, Ajax, HTML, PERL, Javascript,
   Apache etc

I think once the subject has a raison d´être, and it focuses on it like SD
does, it will earn a following.

As it is, Informatics tries to be everything for everyone and doesn't
satisfy anyone's needs.
It needs to choose a path (like SD does) and proudly *stick with it*.

Another 2.2 cents. Golly, that's 4.4c today.
