[Year 12 SofDev] 'fi' and 'fl' missing in 2012 exam papers

I had a similar problem and copied and pasted the offending text into a text editor. "fi's" and "fl's" seem to be stored as ligature characters, i.e. instead of an "f" and an "I" or "l" they are represented by a single (?)graphic image. If you zoom in on the letter you might see they are tied together. An old printers' kerning trick.

Hi Mark.

Sorry, it was a bit vague. I printed off the 2012 paper directly from the VCAA site and anywhere that 'fi' was written, it disappeared.
For example 'Certificate' on the front page was just "Certi  cate". It was like that all through the paper.
Apparently, it is not doing this in Adobe. (Only in "Preview" which is a Mac app.)
Very weird. I thought VCAA were trying to stop us from copying them O.o
Turns out it may be just a program glitch.
