[Year 12 SofDev] Use Case Diagrams - Generalisations?

Hey SD listers,

I'm just wondering if anyone out there has been teaching the students to the generalisation arrows when making use case diagrams. I haven't been, but I feel like I'm using the extend relationship, when I really should be using the generalisation one. For example the base use case is "Log in" and the specialisations would be "Log in as admin" and "Log in as user".

Since if you use extend in this situation you should be able to use the "Log in" use case on its own, however it doesn't make sense without the specialisations because it really is an abstract use case.

I'm thinking I might get the students to use the Generalisation arrows in these cases, since that what you would do in the real world.

Any thoughts?
