[Year 12 SofDev] River's Window Tinting - advice for teachers

Hi everyone,

I wanted to point out some discussion points concerning the River's Window
Tinting sample SAC in the advice to teachers - following the VITTA VCE IT PD
day on Friday.

U3O1 is concerned only with analysis and should have no design in it. In
the River's Window Tinting example, it contains a task that says something
like: construct a use case diagram to represent the way that the new system
will work. This is not correct - as this is design as opposed to analysis.
It should really have a task like: construct a use case diagram to represent
the functioning of the current system.

River's Window Tinting also includes a task concerned with organisational
goals and objectives (and possibly mentions system goals and objectives).
Note that none of these terms are used in the SD study design and are not in
the course. However, they do set the scene quite well - after-all, it is
not easy to discuss the requirements of the software solution in the context
of the organisation, if you do not know what the organisation stands for.
There is also a similar learning activity to this listed in advice to
teachers section prior to River's Window Tinting. I think that it is fine
to include goal / objective type content - but wanted to ensure that
everyone understood that it is not mandatory (and not examinable)!

Cheers,

Adrian Janson (sent from my notebook on the run between classes!)
