Hi kevork
hahahahaha
i think that perhaps some things get embellished over time, but yes, I
think it wasn't until i was in my 30's that i actually started to
concede that it might be possible for me to be wrong on the odd occassion.
I like to think Iam much more circumspect these days *sigh*

Resign? oh yes. iam one of those 54/11 people that makes it economically
beneficial to quit b4 55!
But I still need some money, so I had to find something else to do
At this moment I have been offered a full time SSO IT technician job (do
you know how much they pay these guys? not much), but have applied for a
Junior maths/science as well.
The problem is which one, the??????
regards
Kev

Although my memory isn't that good, it makes me very happy to see that I
have left an impression on those for whom I have a great deal of respect
and admiration (dont expect anything more smaltzy than that but)
My sharpest memory from all those VITTA conferences was meeting up with
you and Maggie Iaquinto in her session on using null modems to get 2
computers to communicate - geee you could type on one and it would
appear on the other screen or even maybe send a file! Remember before
www when we had 2400 baud modems and needed communcations software with
protocols like x, y and z modem? Ot telemate and all those AT commands?
Well we were all making 25 pin x-over cables with the kids and Maggie
was getting some intermittent errors and we were discussing the hows and
whys on that, I think we were only a part of a small group trying all
these hardware and communications experiments (yep u 2 durkin) when
everone else was working on wordstar, or some spreadsheet - and in my
old self - boring, boring, boring. However i remember at the finish
Maggie going to her old beaten up datsun and turning on an old radio,
but perhaps not, because she then started speaking fluent russian to the
orbiting cosmonaughts above! how good was that! amazing.
