[Year 12 SofDev] Item in VCAA bulletin

Thanks Donna for the Python link

I expect that any programming language that can write graphics to the screen 
can be used to create a GUI. To prove that point I have created a 
wordprocessor GUI at http://www.schoolgamemaker.rupert.id.au/morethan.htm 
with GameMaker from graphics primitives.

What I would question is why the requirement to make a GUI is in there at 
all? It all seems VB centric. Where is the real challenge in dropping a few 
prepackaged VB controls onto a form? Software is a rapidly moving area, 
surely students should be working with more universal concepts such as 
control structures and data structures rather than concentrating on recipe 
book implementation of specific features such as list boxes and comboboxes?
