I am cross posting this cool idea from Oz-teachers, apologies if you have
already seen this. Dont reply to me .. if want to follow it up you will need
to contact Benjamin directly. We made a couple of these IR pens and they
work like a treat. :-)

Teachers
I noticed a few dicussions on the Wiimote IWB through this listserv. Some of
you may may have already evaluated the demonstration application released by
Johnny Chung Lee and found it not very functional or incompatible with many
applications, Smoothboard has fixed all the bugs and compatability issues
while providing some amazing functionality.
After extensive software development and hardware research we can now offer
a high quality interactive experience accessible by all teachers and
students. The Wiimote IWB setup guide and Smoothboard manual:
http://www.boonjin.com/smoothboard/ has been written by a (NSW) teacher with
the specific aim of any teacher (or student) with average computer skills
being able to create their own interactive whiteboard/surface.
This project is created under the general principles of 'Open Education'
please pass this information to any teachers you know might be interested.
Smoothboard 1.0 features:
* Smoothing to facilitate high quality digital writing
* Remote control your computer with the Wiimote Presenter
* Easy 'Right Click'
* Visual calibration assistant to make calibration very easy
* 12 outside screen toggle areas that can be programmed to simulate
mouse/keyboard commands and execute applications
* Cursor control toolbar, quickly change between Left, right and double
click
* Install and uninstall package
* And so much more!
Wiimote IWB setup guide includes:
* Pictorial guides to connecting your Wiimote to any Bluetooth computer
* Detailed description of setup options
* Where to buy an IR-Pen or how to make your own
* How to mount, position and power the Wiimote
* And so much more!
Combine this with 'The Groove' the first specific designed and built IR-Pen
for the Wiimote IWB with a pressure sensitive tip from
http://www.irpensonline.com and your Wiimote IWB will feel exactly like a
commercial IWB.
http://www.wiimoteproject.com is the forum for support and discussion on the
Wiimote IWB and other Wiimote applications.
http://www.wiimoteproject.com has also created a wireless live graphing
tri-axel data logger with pitch & roll that exports the data to excel or
text for analysis (science teachers might be very interested in it!).
