[Offtopic] [OT] Books in schools Purchase Vs Loaned

Dear all
Apologies for the off topic post.

Just a quick query to see how many independent schools(catholic mainly)
Loan text books out to students.
Currently the library at the start of the year loans out all of the text
books to the students for the whole year. This is at a considerable cost
especially when new text books are needed.

Are there any schools that do this??

Are there any schools that do this for people with a genuine hardship?
