Thank you one and all who responded to my question. It certainly give me
a much better idea of what I can or won't do for the IT environment.

Once again thanks.

All of these are blocked... even to staff.... Although sometimes I can
get to gmail..... and I have seen the kids get into hotmail... but can
never find what proxy they are using....

Found a new one last week that is very sneaky.... www.schoolister.com
<http://www.schoolister.com/> which looks legit until you go to the
next level...

They get links they can access myspace through their email

We have recently changed ISPs and are having a whole heap of other
issues.... UGHHHHHHH

I am in the process of setting a myspace/freewebs task for my year 9 web
design course... to try to give them real world skills... but that will
be done from home. Still sifting through the best approach.... But it
will basically be looking at internet safety and protocols... so maybe a
couple of them don't get sucked into the whole myspace "problem" but can
become responsible web users....

I know... I could be dreaming there....

Back to the topic... they all have school based webmail accounts... and
folders on the server start at 10MB... but many students have these
increased due to the subjects they are doing... eg - Digital
Art/Multimedia etc

Hope I haven't waffled too much

Cheers

Ladies and gentlemen,

This is probably off topic and I do beg your indulgence, but does your
school allow students access to the above. Do your students have
unlimited email storage? If not, what limits do you set for them?
Thanking you for your patience. If there is another area where I can
post these types of questions, please let me know .

Humbly yours,

Alan
