Have set up an online assignment for collection of the students learning goals. Form and English teachers
take students through what is expected in class. Students can alter them at any time from home or at school.
I will extract the assignment responses from the moodle database and import them into Markbook before
reporting.
Main issues are the
- need to use a subroutine called KillHTML to remove the possible HTML tags that students may have inserted.
- need to identify the fields in Markbook for the upload.
Sure that there will be more issues to come. but best to leap in and see what happens....

Subject: [Moodle] Student learning Goals
Has anyone crafted a solution to managing the collection of Student Learning Goals yet?
Last year we used Moodle journals to collect student goals and comments and then cut and pasted these into
Markbook. As it was out first attempt we only did it with year 7&8. This year we aim to do it with years 7-10
which is a far greater collection pool. Using a journal in Moodle has its problems (when exported from MySQL
html control characters are included) although it also has potential. I also thought about using a database
across the network but it would have to have restrictions so that students only see their own entries and
would not be able to change each others entries.
As anyone else thought this through?
