[Moodle] Moodle 1.6 - anyone leapt in ?

we are now using 1.6 and about to move it all to a new super server which has SUSE linux if its any help

I want to do it but the instructions seem hopeless and database conversion
problems seem very worrying.
Any one done it ??  Who can I pay to do it seamlessly for me ???
