[Year 12 IT Apps] Informatics Chapter 1 online

Hi Michael (and others),

I'm in the process of planning learning activities for the new Study Design and will happily share some once they are closer to completion.

Like yourself, I would greatly appreciate a PDF version of the sample chapter. I think this is the least we should expect given the publication date has already been pushed back until sometime in March. Since our students will all be buying the textbook anyway due to the lack of an alternative, I don't see the problem in letting us have what's ready now in an easily accessible (and printable) format.

I requested a PDF version from the publisher more than a week ago but have had no response. Perhaps if enough of us make similar requests we may be granted access to something other than the restricted online version.

Transition (Start Up) is less than 2 weeks away for most of us, so it would be nice to have some readings/questions to present to the students that are aligned to the new Study Design.

Hi all,
Now that we have the first chapter available from Nelson Cengage (http://bit.ly/1PYeLPr), I have three questions:

A. Has anyone been enthusiastic enough to throw together a SAC or some learning tasks and are willing to share them?
B. Do we have to put up with that awful online version?  It’s slow to load and clunky to use.  Ugh! Can we not get a good old PDF version?
C. Will the Study Design be updated with an Advice For Teachers section any time soon - including some sample assessment tasks, SACs etc?

PS. Well done Mark.  It looks like a massive improvement over the last book, especially in the area of NORMALISATION!
