An interesting observation - 33% of enrolments in VCE Algorithmics this year is female. IT apps and Software development were no where near this rate last year (approx 18% and 7% respectively). One could speculate that the name Algorithmics did not turn off girls, so maybe Informatics will also be positively greeted.

My thinking was that we keep the VCE subject code as IT for convenience and familiarity with the new course descriptions but only for the next few months whilst course selections are cranking through, then it must be allowed to naturally expire. I will insist that we use the proper extended name directly after that. I am quite ready for the name changes come December and open to what other schools are using as codes. Crikey, it was a tough battle to overtake Italian with IT, we can do it again .. so lets all sit around that virtual campfire and DIG DIG DIG, DOB DOB DOB (do our best<http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1016630/Dyb-dyb-dyb-Baden-Powell-got-right.html>)

Hmm!
Golly.
Was that an official, canonical VCAA "Hmm"?
Only two "m"s in it - could be either a supportive or derisive "hmm"? Three "m"s would definitely be unfriendly.
But the exclamation mark tends to indicate displeasure in females.
It's like when they squint and say "Fine..."
Will "Hmm" be added to the 2016 Computing study design glossary?
Is this examinable?
