[Year 12 IT Apps] Android App Development

I’ll post an account of the set up we used for  App Inventor and AI starter as soon as I can get the techs to stop for a moment lol. Shouldn’t be too long, Thursday I expect.

Thanks Brett,

That 80Mb per download might explain why 18 netbooks ground to a halt and could be the whole explanation. Would your tech be happy to send me the settings he used, I can show them to our guys, who knows, things might speed up.

Happy for you to chat to our tech's Laurie if you wish they got it working through the firewall no worries. The application uses a specific and unusual port if memory serves.

The only issue we had was the server load at MIT as it has to download about 80 Meg every time you open up, it sometimes would hang initially for a while

I want to introduce Android Apps development to my Year-10 class. I trialled Android Apps development using Android Studio. After a few hiccups, I was able to get the Android Studio up & running on my computer. However, when I trialled it on school computer in the school network, it is not working.

If anyone is currently teaching Android Application Development, could you share with me what software you are using.
