Be careful believing that "if it is not specifically listed in the study
design it cannot be examinable ."
It's the other way around: if it *is* specifically listed, it *can* be
examined.
What may be included under umbrella headings like "components of
information systems" is not defined - and we often ask similar questions.
VCAA does sometimes give guidance (e.g. what depth of normalisation,
whether includes/extends are needed in SD use case diagrams) - but not as
often as we'd like.
Some topics arrive out of the blue - e.g. in one and only one exam (before
the current study design), the concept of lead and lag time in project
management was asked about.
Some topics are guaranteed to appear, e.g. backups are not listed as key
knowledge but they are always asked about.
I find it safer to cover topics pretty broadly and at least touch on the
less-likely concepts once during the year. You never know if they might
turn up.
