[Year 12 IT Apps] U301 Criteria Sheet

I would just like to clarify that justify means given the nature and needs of the online community, does the type of website selected and developed, such as forum, wiki, blog etc, suit their needs - it's not about evaluating the actual content of the prototype website from its functionality and appearance aspects. This is why it is important not to direct students as to the type of website they create - the design brief should contain sufficient information so that students can analyse the community needs and select for themselves the type of website that best suits their needs. Hence the justification should draw on two aspects: the characteristics of the type of website developed and how these characteristics are matched to the needs and nature of the online community.

Regards
Paula

I think you may be right paul.
Study design page 31 says
--Justify websites that suit the needs of different online communities.
-- explain the technical requirements of the networks hosting the websites.

Hi Kathryn,

thank you for this, well done.

I've just had a quick look through it and Criterion 1 g) and Task 2 Criterion 1 a) caught my eye.
The report focuses on the evaluation of the prototype website. I thought for Outcome 1 there was no evaluation stage of the PSM. Students just had to Analyse, Design and Develop the website but not evaluate it.
I think the report should focus on the technical requirements to support the hosting of the website and not mention the evaluation. That's my undestanding.

Please find attached criteria sheet for U301,(2011-2014) that has been developed from a template. I think the original template was originally created by Claudia and /or others.

Feedback welcomed.
