[Year 12 IT Apps] [Year 12 SofDev] McKinnon classes 2011

I agree, our classes got canned here.

IPM - which has ran every year that I have been here for is now not
running for the first year next year. We have a combined year 11+12
class this year, and 5 in year 12 and 7 in year 11... is 12 enough for a
subject at your schools?

I'm with my year 11s at the moment and asked them why they opted for SD
instead of ITA. A few mentioned that SD was more 'realistic' in terms
of
tertiary courses and careers. Meaning: it had a real benefit to them.

They suggested that ITA was pretty useless for anything practical beyond
getting a mark for a VCE subject.

Don't shoot the messenger...

Hi All,

Somewhat relevant for Apps, but may be of general interest in your
schools too:

Chapter 2: Know Your Villains
Chapter 3: Nasty "ware"
Chapter 4: Hackers and Crackers
Chapter 5: Taking SPAM Off the Menu
Chapter 6: Cyberbullies
Chapter 7: Phishing for Dollars
Chapter 8: Safe Cyber Shopping
Chapter 9: Browsers Bite Back
Chapter 10: Private Blogs and Public Places
Chapter 11: Going Social
Chapter 12: Friends, Creeps and Pirates
Chapter 13: Any Port in a Storm
Chapter 14: Look Pa, No Strings!
Chapter 15: Getting Help
Chapter 16: Tweaks
Appendix A: A Note to Parents

Plus it's a CC licence - Way to go Micro$oft!

Hope you find it helpful.
