Hi Antonia,

At our school we use Study Wiz as a LMS. It has fantastic learning
activities for students and is also half the price of BlackBoard. 

This product is really made with secondary schooling in  mind and students
can sync their ipods with activities created by teachers. I must say
teachers love it!

But, like all software, there are limitations. For example, the blogging
functions can be a little clunky! There have also been issues with their
support lately!

Hi Antonia,

I can strongly recommend DayMap.

It is a very powerful system, it does everything from class roll marking, to
resource booking, to an intergrated Sharepoint, which students can upload
work to (assignments)

Hi Antonia,
We are using Microsoft Sharepoint and it works well enough. (The latest 2010
version is in beta) If your school is mainly PC based then it should
integrate fairly well. I and several other staff use Macbooks and we find
there are no real issues there either except for the inability to view
documents in "explorer view" but other than that it works OK from both home
and school.
