Seems to be lots of flexibility for teacher/ lack of support.
Perhaps the published texts fill the gap.

Information Processes and Technology Stage 6 Syllabus
66
There should be a balance between the assessment of:
. knowledge and understanding outcomes and course content; and
. skills outcomes and content
One task may be used to assess several components. It is suggested that 3-5
tasks
are sufficient to assess the HSC course outcomes.
HSC Course
The internal assessment mark for Information Processes and Technology Stage
6 is
to be based on the HSC course only. Final assessment should be based on a
range
and balance of assessment instruments.

Can't find any description of assessment scheme ? Is it exam only ?
Seems a waste to duplicate the whole process of course development.
Come on ... National Curricula !

A useful place to go for IT definitions, but might also be handy for
kick-starting discussion of ITA course review.
