[Year 12 IT Apps] Teaching ITA and SD in the same classroom

Hi John,
I did something similar this year, and last year too! 2007 had year 11 IT and Vet cert III in the same class...yuk, didnt like it..and in 2008, year 11 and 12 IT and IT Apps in the same room for 3 of 5 periods...again, yuk, not good and didnt like it. Why? small classes is the answer I was told. 
Next year I have requested separate classes for both to give all my time during class to just one class and NOT two, its just too difficult to devote the required attention to two classes in one room at once and not have at least some of the students miss out on necessary attention. Not to mention the stress for preparation it causes plus the fact that it artificially appears that I am 'underloaded' and so I end up copping extras as it looks like a single class on the timetable program - ouch!

Hi Everyone,
 
Since the year 12s have left I thought I might ask this question. This year I have taught ITA and SD in the same classroom at the same time this year. I have not been real happy with the way it went so I thought I would ask if there anyone else in the same predicament and if so how did you handle it? Or if anyone has some suggestions then I would be most grateful.
