Just reminding that moodle and many other opensource programs (e.g. drupal)
etc have extensive built in blog creation and management capabilities
without need for any local software development).

Dear Bill,

We have set up internal blogs at MLC. The computer department created a
user friendly system that enabled all staff to create blogs if they needed.
The templates for the blogs are created by the computer department. They
have been very successful.

We started with house blogs. Students were elected to manage and develop
blogs that informed the rest of the students about house activities. Once
these were up and running interest grew among both staff and students. Blogs
were created by many groups throughout the college as a means to discussing
ideas. We now have so many blogs we are working on guidelines for archiving
and deleting outdated ones.

Regards
Marylou

Hi everyone

Special Thanks to Andrew, Kerrie and Joseph for their responses about blogs.

If anyone else has any ideas, I would also welcome them

Hi Everyone,

In U3 O2 of ITA we have all looked at collaborative tools, one of which is a
blog.

Has anyone managed to use blogs effectively for students in their school?
How has it been set up? Do you use 'edublogs' or maintain the blogs
internally?

Appreciate any advice

Bill
