Thank you Kevork,

It's been a pleasure working with you and knowing you over the years and this is also true of everyone on the list, and I won't be disappearing from the scene completely. The teaching side has become harder and harder and unfortunately my last post was not a happy one especially in 2007. The reality is that ministers and education department officials don't know what it is like to teach in dysfunctional communities or do know but don't know what to do and so engage in "buck passing"- the real destroyer of community and society.

What really got me the job was my ability to work outside the school, fantastic lists such as these, contributions to VITTA, success at state and national competitions for my students etc.... Just goes to show that you might be working in a school with dud school administration, but you can still be a successful teacher in poor schools with appalling socio-economic status regardless of the obstacles put in your way- well, to a point.

I look forward to seeing you all at conferences and other gatherings in the near future.

Hi Zach,

I am sure I speak for everyone when I say thanks for all your hard work, humour and contributions over the years.
It must be hard to cut the cord as it were from teaching but you have to do what is best for you.

Look after yourself and stay in touch

Best Wishes

Hello all,

I've started a new job as an education consultant- so if you have a need
for interactive whiteboards (Smartboards) and associated visual
equipment, (you name it, I'll have it) then you can give me a call on
0409 540 608 or email me at z.alexakos at electroboard.com.au

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank people on the lists for
their help over the years, (the years have flown by!)- it's been
tremendous, and without this support life would have been so much harder
than it already is.

Regards,

Zach Alexakos
