[Year 12 IT Apps] RE: VITTA PD city v rural again!

Hi AJ,
sorry bout being a pain here buddy!

I like the idea of a DVD being made but, can I then claim that in equivilent time to actual attendence at the event for my PD hours diary, and how much will the DVD cost?

There still however, is no substitute for 'being there', as since the topic is on VIRTUAL COLLABORATION, its ironic that this seems to me, to be a missed opportunity to demonstrate it in 'real time' with an secured interactive feed to non CBD based venues.

I only have a web cam and can rig up some speakers and a microphone, so I am willing to be a guinea pig if you like but you will need to assist me somehow to get set up if that's what it takes. My school WILL support this I am almost certain, if this is an option you are willing to give a go with. I reckon I could convince the techie here to help us get set up -  I'm certain the principal here will agree to it too.

Once again, just the PD I'd love to attend but am 3hrs away!
C'mon VITTA, you said you guys were going to help us rural folk out back a few weeks on this very issue with PD. This bloke, if he's come from NZ, surely you told him before he arrived that we had this issue and could he help out with a 'rural tour'!  

Heck, if the 'Rogue Traders' can do a tour of the bush...why cant he?

For me to attend it would cost me 2 days time unless I drive home and arrive at about 1.00am the following morning! (then its just 1 day)

Give 's a break and offer something we CAN attend!!  PLEEEEZ.

I'd like to build my PD hours up too, but it seems being a rural teacher is going to prevent me getting my compulsory 20hrs per year. (Thanks VIT for THAT one!)

Due to high demand, VITTA have organised a VCE and VET IT Exam Preparation for Teachers PD to be held at Melbourne High School on April 16th. Places are limited so register online at www.vitta.org.au/events to secure your place.

VCE and VET IT Exam Preparation for Teachers
Wednesday April 16th 
Melbourne High School, Forrest Hill, South Yarra

These sessions have been developed to give teachers a review of the 2007 written exams. They will assist teachers wanting to maximise their understanding of the exam, including the past performace of students, general guidelines, and links between the exam and unit outcomes.

Program
4:15pm - Registration and refreshments
4:45pm - Concurrent Sessions (Choose one)
               1) ITA Applications (Claudia Graham, Chief Assessor)
               2) VET IT (Kevork Krozian, Forest Hill College)
5:45pm - Changeover
6:00pm - Software Development (Claudia Graham)

Fees are on a per session basis.
