[Year 12 IT Apps] VITTA Practice Exam 2 Multiple Choice Question 6

I have been searching the study design for any mention of the specfic
laws that our ITA students will need to know for the exam.

Can anybody point me to where they are mentioned?

OK Now I'm confused. If the Privacy amendment was subsumed into the 1988
Act doesn't that cover private organisations as well? It is obvious that
we need a good clarification of this entire area soon. Any one know a
good Lawyer?

Hi Jo

The 1988 Act applies only to Commonwealth (Federal) government bodies.

The 2000 (Private Sector) Act includes the private sector.

So A) is correct.

D) could also be correct if you wanted to read more into the question
(and I tell students to not do so), and the real estate agency was a
contractor to the State Government. As the question is general and not
specifically stating whether the organiosation is Victorian and/or a
contractor to the government D) cannot be correct.

B) is incorrect because the organisation is not in the medical sector.
