Hi Jason,
Its not compulsory for my allotment but, as I'm doing the TA04 course, its probably not a bad idea anyway and it could contribute to my assessments for that course.
Suggestions....hmmm, let me see..ok....
1. More efficient use of some of the applications commonly used by staff such as word or excel etc..eg setting up a spreadsheet to record marks and using formulas...
2. Use of graphics programs to do say, a collage of photos or similar..
3. Intro to some of the more ellaborate programs such as flash or gamemaker perhaps for cross curriculum stuff..
4. How to 'better' navigate the internet for resources etc.. web crawling v surfing etc..
5. How to 'clean up' their laptops! This could be very handy for those who regularly use the internet at home and school on their school based laptops. It could also help them have less 'down-time' and therefore be happier that the machine is going quicker with the 'freed up' space they create.
6. How to add stuff to a 'faculty web page'.(On your IntraNet) If you are at a state school Jason, you probably use a common interface for the inter(intra)net, so your IT techies could clue you up to assist with this one. eg. Adding online lesson plans, useful net links etc. The beauty here, you can reuse them next year and just need to modify them for the group you get next year rather than reinvent the wheel. Saves paper too!
Hope these ideas help...The last two just gave me an idea too for a PD for some of the lesser computer literate staff new to laptops.
Cheers.

Hi List
As a part of my allotment for next term I have to run a series of PD sessions for the staff at my school. Has anyone else done something similar?
I plan on making them as interactive as possible and to cater for all ability levels.
Has anyone done anything similar?
If so, would you be able to share some ideas?
Cheers
Jason Lappin
