Agreed Robert,
A DFD describes data flows between entities and the system and data
stores in the system. It describes WHAT is to be done not how.
A flow chart describes the processes to be performed in a program but
you could present a logical flow chart for a system
A system flow chart describes HOW the processing is to be done eg a
process saves data to a file (data store). A system flow chart will show
whether that file is paper or electronic. A number of software tools are
available with built-in images to help design system flow charts eg
Inspiration, Visio, even MS Word has a good set).
