[Year 12 IT Apps] Macros - Question arising from Friday's PD

Hi all,
	On Friday's PD at Melbourne Uni, Maggie's session on unit 3 said
that students do not need to actually do a macro in the outcome but could do
them as activities before and/or after the outcome has been completed. On
the other had, Mark's session stated that students had to do macros as part
of the outcome. 
Could anyone please clarify which way we have to go here.
