Hi Mark,

I am not teaching IT Apps this year but I would imagine testing in this sense refers to simulated disasters where an attempt is made to recover all that is lost by "testing" the recovery plan to see if all is as it should be after the recovery process is completed. I think the problem is in the expression and would read more accurately if it was written as :

Disaster recovery strategies, including the testing of disaster recovery plans in simulated environments.

Just my view, but then again I didn't write the Study Design

Take Care
Kevork

Spring is in the air and a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts
of the ITA study design.

ITA Key Knowledge Unit 4 Outcome 2 Dotpoint 5 is "Disaster recovery
strategies, including testing."

I've been wondering how testing can help one recover from disaster.
Sure it can help _prevent_ disaster, but that's not "recovery".

How does testing help after the disaster has struck??

Any ideas?
