IrfanView has the same - often I will 'do' a folder of up to 100 or more
large pictures, adding the descriptive "-small" after the original
filename. You are able to choose amongst the following - set the longest
side to a specific measurement, set both to a required format and many
more. I do not recall, however, if you can batch optimise using
Irfanview - Fireworks sounds very useful.
