Laurie

I don't want to clog up the IPM highway, but hopefully some brief
answers will solve your problems.

You make the judgements as to a student's progress and it is based on
all of the evidence provided by the student during that reporting
period. It is an on-balance judgement that you are making and you report
accordingly. So, if they are not where you would expect them to be, then
select the appropriate progression point (or level, such as 4 or 5).

Students work towards a level, so typically if students are in year 7
they are working towards level 5, so the points of progression are 4.25,
4.5 and 4.75. This indicates that they are above level 4, and
progressing towards level 5.

Your last comment about above level 6 is correct.

Hope this helps.

Paula

Subject: [Year 12 IPM] OT - VELS questions

I have two questions which have cropped up today:

1. If a student does not comply and submit work what progression point
are they awarded?!

2. We are at loggerheads about the progression standards. Is a student
in year 7 working towards level 5 or starting from level 5, and is a
student in year 9 working towards level 6 or starting from level 6?

I would hope they would be working towards level 6 in 9/10 so that it
would be possible to award them =3D> 6.25 and so award them A or B instead

of C.

Laurie
