[elearning] Ipads ... the nitty gritty

I agree, although there is not a lot of clarity from Apple on this, and at various conferences I have been told different things... and it has been interesting to see the comments from schools in the trial too (off list/off the record) which is why I figured, although a pain it would be best to set them up one account per device... see how we go...
Thanks for all he feedback... from the range of replies both here and on twitter there are many different angles people are taking on this one :)
Is there anyone from the DEECD on this list ?

The Lenovo option looks good too... I like that it is preloaded... takes lots of the pain out of it - for us and the techs :)

Hi Julie and others,

Doesn't that model of accounts contravene the terms and conditions of the app store? Surely we are not allowed to load 1 purchased app to 5 devices without paying for 5! I am intrigued about how schools are working around this limitation until apple release some sort of education licensing.

Hi,

We have done as you are planning...it takes a little bit of time to set up but it seems to be working well.  I set up the email addresses and Apple IDs so I get an email when the students purchase an app using that account.  At the moment 5 students share each account and I've given them a list of what they must download although they are allowed to discuss ideas for apps & download those they all agree on.
