Good morning!
A member of the Council for Technology & Engineering Teacher Education
(CTETE) Curriculum Committee (Ctete.org <http://ctete.org/>) connected with
DATTA Australia via email with *an invitation for Australian teachers to
contribute to the Technology & Engineering Teacher Journal* (see:
https://www.iteea.org/39191.aspx

- this international journal is dedicated to assisting classroom teachers
identify and utilise best practices in Technology & Engineering Education.
There will be a special edition of the *Technology & Engineering
Teacher *journal
will be coming out early 2022 - there is an international emphasis with
lesson plans from around the globe.
*If you are interested in contributing, please see the details below and
connect with Scott. It would be a great experience for those wishing to
write a piece that will be published and peer-reviewed, you may forward
this to a colleague. *
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*We would like to invite you to contribute one or two lesson plans for
consideration for this special edition. Each contributing author will have
the option of having their lesson plan(s) peer-reviewed as part of this
process as well. *
*Further, selected lessons will be published in the Technology &
Engineering Teacher journal with an accompanying introduction and
reflection. We are excited about the prospect of seeing high-quality
lesson plans from around the world and highlighting the different and
unique ways Technology & Engineering Education is taught.*
In line with this work, and the recent release of the *Standards for
Technological and Engineering Literacy* (see:
https://www.iteea.org/151447.aspx
<https://secure-web.cisco.com/1GkOltnaydykm7ssarbQV0v28t_cuIl3iuivcLDRcLhrVdEPVrwLBryB3gfLxRb441VYweizcYQ4i6qMxQ6AnXVhHVrDpcXDdNmkLuzP3ONkUD6Pdsy9_COjR4hdkG_Nq4LRg9Myi18dMRYKlz61pT11D_67yuY_TL7-cDsdYutzufChpz6tOoriLEMChWvvRaouRz9xrCDf9dyn6QGz1623Rn3pRsy44Clix22eR2cXxuR7W_ICfXZxUqhErbFvbqEAQL_8ToAPKr784FOBKHyi_6VViRui3VRjYOvOq3xkScaFSrsRAm_uAqDJV5-aRweK4p_3yKSX67iVvVF1LIDiTQJAwNRHDkHNgjSFxA1BCRpvn9xR9kh8ptnYelhktL1nQzcVarq0WD8JVHhi3MoqszZb-G-5sNSR-f7SpR0Iv1NbPx3cxXpfV3hr_GCm4A2hIDb1wmk7f2ET-_4TAEoFTePn3TG3iTu6wR-eOWCA/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.iteea.org%2F151447.aspx>),
we aim to showcase ways the new *Standards for Technology & Engineering
Literacy* are (or can be) incorporated into the submitted lessons from
around the globe.
While there will be no specific format for the submitted lesson plans, *each
should clearly demonstrate alignment and incorporation of these standards,
contexts, and practices* (see:
https://www.iteea.org/File.aspx?id=168785&v=fb52b0c8
<https://secure-web.cisco.com/1F5eyBu8bWwg5sevzvilYMc9aUIRdg5RLN-II6V0qHoBPWazuO-Kbdb2G4pZfHFHpKyr-TtdGYwbNW-ITK_3mYcbSpNmtFF9Z6oSnEHF21CMqnn3TELQvUVJWXQlvcnrPEq48OIsdmo8nCfTownsmwB7CU5qAOn6aS-nnBAWJdeWG9_J-GvsyDpIdY8oggubOnll7W6tKr8Agpl5if7kO6qXc47fZYLc9-5IFsfsg4PtzH4uJdhQNnkVgtJMYi31E_ob0k8lbOUDnl3lpEE2COwhyL7egtH16uEICtU0yRDNxZy8egT7exNtk-BhW082wzGUHc03EPOwY1O5f4MpDc3WSEzIAIriNOe1sheLb51WCgYE3Dd3KR5jRwtpfjVcaRKpQfJLeSFgY92IHB9hnjqxR0UGDKhV4toEcklQ4v9zaaiQdz5Uc78ChXoTZt7nISamIlDaPNoYfMGu2n5JK7jhoIQdjfbEFvXFXaSinick/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.iteea.org%2FFile.aspx%3Fid%3D168785%26v%3Dfb52b0c8>).
Additionally, while we stress that there is no prescribed format, there are
several common elements that could/should be included (in one way or
another) in each lesson plan so another teacher could implement these ideas
with their students; common elements include, but are not limited to:
• Title and course information (grade level, subject, etc.)
• Narrative paragraph describing the lesson
• Lesson duration in minutes
• Standards (STEL)
• Local standards/objectives/goals/etc.
• Learning objectives
• Student prerequisite knowledge and skill
• Tools/materials
• Assessments of student learning
• A clear beginning (where student interest is captured and focused on the
learning objectives), middle (where developmental activities occur) and end
(summary and transition).
• Details enough to give to a peer
• Pictures/Images of sample student work (we will provide a media release
form prior to using any images/pictures of students)
*The deadline for submitting lesson plans for consideration is NOVEMBER 1,
2021 - all lesson plans should be emailed to Dr. Scott Bartholomew
(Curriculum Committee Chair) at scottbartholomew at byu.edu
<scottbartholomew at byu.edu>.*
Following the review of lesson plans, the authors of selected lesson plans
will be contacted with additional instructions; with each of the lesson
plans we’d like to include a 1-pg introduction centered on the local
educational climate, setting, and classrooms as well as a 1-pg reflection
on the lesson.
You may also contact Dr. Scott Bartholomew, CTETE Curriculum Committee
Chair, at scottbartholomew at byu.edu.
