[Design and Technology] query

Hi Stuart –

We’re about 650 in the secondary school component at HT, thought there’s a primary which also uses the space.  I teach alone (I’m the only DT teacher.

I don’t have time release, though there is an Art assistant.  However, it’s often more complex to coordinate cross-department than to just do the job that needs doing.


At a previous school appointment, I used to attract a 75 minute allowance as Head of Department, but that school had 1200 students and 3 members in the department, as well as a technician 2 days a week.

Hope this info can contribute to the conversation.

Hi all,
Was just looking for some feedback regarding positions of responsibility and time release at other schools. Does anyone have any time release for preparation of materials etc. for schools of around 900 students? Or an assistant that they employ or share with other departments.
