Hi Fran,
I have similar experiences, moving from a 500 pop. school to 1300 pop. schoo=
l this year, teaching 7 through to 12. Both schools I was/am in the only wo=
odwork teacher. Previous school also had Electrical/Mechanical and Wood clas=
srooms, this school has Art/Electrical/Mechanical workshops as well as Wood.=
Some schools are lucky to have a member of the public willing to maintain=
machinery and equipment (although it must have associated OH&S responsibili=
ties that are ignored).
By-the-way, I looked at your schools website and read ... 'updated wood and=
metal technology resources and facilities' ... but no mention of support st=
aff or maintenance assistance.
