Good list Mark. Fascinating to think of the scope of things to come for the next 40 years with AI on the horizon. I have shared this before but it is worth a read again. Was launched at the ACCE2018 conference in Sydney. Our own Ozzi version of the Horizon Report. Makes for interesting reading. I am keen to read the next one.

I don’t buy into the career argument much, many kids study Psychology but that isn’t to become Psychologists .. it’s a factor but curiosity and interest informs their choice too. Your power hungry moron worries me.

At year 10, parents play a big part .. and they often start to get an idea about what direction to head at around year 8. This was from some surprising research that we dug up about five years ago with the DLTV. I have some more sad news about a paradox to share but I will save this for another time. In a nutshell, get below the surface and ask “Why” and how do you “Feel” about this to gauge their drive.

Remember the history too .. during the 1990’s many Typing and Commerce Teachers were being retrained as IT teachers and moved across as we pulled apart the model offices and typing rooms.  During the 1980’s it was the mathematics teachers but they all ran away in the early 1990’s because of a clever invention. Can you guess what?
