Swinburne is running a TOM:Melbourne Makeathon for Assistive Technologies at the end of November and are currently looking for participants. If you know any students or teachers who would be interested in participating please send the following information on to them.
You're the hero we need.
Use your expertise in open-source hardware, electronics, robotics, 3D printing, metalworking, woodworking, or arts and crafts to change the world!
TOM (Tikkun Olam Makers) Melbourne Makeathon for Assistive Technologies brings together industry, engineers, designers, developers and makers with the people who need new assistive technologies ('Need Knowers').
Makers will execute every stage of an open source prototype. You'll meet and work with current students, industry representatives, academics and experts.
You'll invent a life-changing and affordable product to improve the lives of Need Knowers everywhere! Participation is free, with all materials, breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks covered by the Makeathon. You'll plan your invention in the lead up, but in just 72 hours your team will take that plan and turn it into reality!
When: 28-30 November 2016
Where: Swinburne University of Technology, Hawthorn campus
How: Register<http://swinburne.custhelp.com/rd?1=AvMY~wpPDv8S~5H~Gr86~yKNQ9AoRy77Mv_w~z7~Pv95&2=8774> (http://aus.tomglobal.org/) by 10 October 2016
