Dear Team,
I've been processing last Monday's gathering. Here is a DRAFT of an idea to start with so that students can see if their hypothesis will be suitable for the SAT. Feel free to share your opinions, use, modify or delete!

Cheers,

The Big Project

Part 1: Feasibility Study / Plan
Come up with a hypothesis you want to look at. I cannot give you a hypothesis but we have gathered a number of data resources you can use and access.
There are a number of requirements set by the VCAA that your SAT must demonstrate to get full marks. This task will help you make sure that you can gather all the resources you need for these requirements in both Units 3 and 4.

My Proposed Hypothesis (this can be refined once the feasibility is completed).

Required for full marks

Examples

What can you gather?

I can find Primary Quantitative (numerical) data on this hypothesis

Eg ABS Raw Data.

Survey data you can collect yourself.

I can find Primary Qualitative (categorical) data on this hypotheses

Pick a bit of an issue so you can gather people's opinions on this topic

I can find Secondary Data in a multimedia format on this hypothesis

OR Primary multimedia format data

EG - Media coverage, Youtube clips, facebook comments

EG - Photos, Video clips etc that you take.

Is there other data you can think of that you would like to collect?
Categorise it.
